Whilst tech companies are particularly interested in MBA graduates currently, job chances for graduates of business schools are looking up overall. According to GMAC employers across all industries plan to hire this year. 81 per cent of all employers answered they wanted to add MBAs this year, up from a 70 per cent hire rate last year. Notable was an increase from small enterprises and startups.

A Microsoft representative told Bloomberg that the company valued the degree of functional excellence and the diverse set of experiences and perspectives that MBA students bring to a company. The human-resources director also commented on students being data-driven and passionate about technology.

For the study the graduate admission council surveyed more than 1,000 employers in 42 countries during February and March.
