The University of Augsburg was founded in 1970 and is one of the new, modern universities in Bavaria with approximately 17.000 students. According to the motto of the university "Scientia et Conscientia" the curricula are designed to meet the high standards of academic excellence on the one hand, combined with the practical needs of society and the economy on the other. The Centre for Professional Development and Knowledge Transfer (ZWW) has an excellent reputation throughout Germany. Established in 1974, the ZWW offers 40 years of experience in Continuing Education and academic knowledge transfer. It is well known for its integrative approach to combine academic excellence, innovative thinking, cultural involvement and exchange as well as social responsibility.
In cooperation with the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics (FBAE) the ZWW offers excellent part-time courses for professionals, such as the "MBA Corporate Management" or qualifications as "Certified Rating Analyst (univ.)" or "Certified IFRS Accountant (univ.)". Over the last three decades the institution has become a national leader in its field. In 2004 the "Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft", the leading association that provides funding for German education and research, named the ZWW in Augsburg as the best institute attached to a university in the German market of Continuing Education. In order to enhance and upgrade the learning environment for MBA-students, the ZWW has built the "PATRIZIA Forum", a new Management Centre on the Campus of the University of Augsburg, which became available for use in October 2009.

Fee | € 28,900 |
Process:
90 ECTS
56 days in Augsburg, 2 month fulltime in Pittsburgh, Master-Thesis
During the first year of study the MBA-students take 16 different core courses which provide key qualifications for successful management. The courses cover all relevant aspects of corporate management with the main focus on business and management skills, leadership and international competence. In the second year of study students can choose courses out of the wide range of courses offered in the Spring-1-term during their minimum eight week full-time study at the Katz Graduate School of Business in Pittsburgh/US and choose afterwards the electives in Augsburg according to their individual preferences.
To finish their study, the students have to write an academic thesis that must have a strong corporate link but also offer a sound academic approach to the topic. The courses are taught by academics and corporate experts, both from Germany and abroad, bilingual in German and English. The applied teaching methods range from projects, case studies, presentations and computer simulations in small groups to classic teaching. One crucial factor in the concept of the MBA Corporate Management is the exchange between the students based on their working experience and individual backgrounds. The high quality of the MBA Corporate Management was confirmed by the national reaccreditation of the FIBAA and was awarded with the FIBAA-Premium-Siegel as first University MBA-program in February 2009 due to its excellent quality.
