Some part-time MBA programmes for more senior managers and executives now top 200,000 US dollars according to the website.
According to Poets & Quants the most expensive MBA programme worldwide is the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. Here the current class will pay 205,200 US dollar for the two-year programme. Wharton is followed by the Columbia Business School and Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management which both also charge over 200,000 US dollars.
Compared to these steep prices Yale University’s Executive MBA, which was ranked best in the world by The Economist, seems affordable at slightly below 180,000 US dollar. Many more programmes, amongst them the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business to UCLA’s Anderson School of Management, charge well above 150,000 US dollar for part-time programmes.
The costs accumulate due the packages that the business schools provide for the students. Apart from student fees there are also room and board included, most course materials and a “land package” for a global business week. However, travel costs are usually excluded as is the registration charge.
The MBA experts’ analysis found that the least expensive quality option is the offer from Brigham Young University’s Marriott School of Business at a cost of only 46,000 US dollar.
