After the offer of UCLA Anderson and the National University of Singapore and the so called Trium programme (LSE/HEC Paris/NYU Stern), Kellogg’s joint programme with Canadian school Schulich made fourth spot whilst another joint programme with German Otto Beisheim School of Management ended up on sixth spot just behind the EMBA from Columbia Business School/London Business School.
The Financial Times’ Online MBA ranking was dominated by two of the usual contenders – Spanish IE Business School and the UK’s Warwick Business schools but third place went to a surprising candidate – Isenberg School of Management which jumped six places. As the main reason for the improvement the Financial Times cited the US-school’s improving graduate salaries. Its 2013 alumni now earn an average of $159,000, 43 per cent more than their salary on graduation and the fourth-highest salary of the 20 ranked schools according to FT. Other high achieving schools were the Australian UNSW Business School and two US-based schools from the University of Florida as well as from the George Washington University.
According to FT’s research during the survey there is an obvious change in the air how Online MBAs are viewed: “Digital degrees come of age”, writes the finance paper and cites higher enrolment numbers and an increase of schools entering the market as proof. The paper’s view is that in the future the Online MBA could even become the most popular option of all. “A growing number of teaching institutions and students are embracing qualifications that are delivered entirely or mainly over the internet”, the paper states.
