The Masters in Management (MIM) degree, a popular business qualification for graduates with little or no prior work experience, is safely in European hands with the business school at the Swiss University of St Gallen maintaining its long-standing lead in the Financial Times’ (FT) most recent ranking. The Swiss school came out ahead of HEC Paris, the London Business School and French business school Essec. ESCP Europe landed on fifth place. Overall, the financial paper analysed the top 100 institutions worldwide.
Despite a dominance of European schools, there were also international contenders from other continents like Shanghai Jiao Tong University’s Antai School of Economics and Management and the Indian Institutes of Management in Kolkata and Ahmedabad.
To determine the ranking FT looked at factors including alumni salaries, international experience, value for money, aims achieved and diversity of students and faculty.
