New deans refresh business schools

Several renowned business schools have changed their leaders or have announced new deans. Stanford Graduate School of Business has installed Jonathan Levin (photo) as its new dean in September this year.

Levin is an economist and had been Chair of the Economics Department at Stanford beforehand. He is the son of former Yale University President Richard Levin.

Also in September, Franz Heukamp took over as dean of Iese Business School in Spain. Prof. Heukamp has been Iese’s associate dean for MBA programmes since 2012. Heukamp, originally from Germany, is a Professor of Decision Analysis and has degrees in engineering from Technische Universität München (Germany), École des Ponts et Chaussées (France), as well as a PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (U.S.).

London Business School will also get a new dean. François Ortalo-Magné will take over from Sir Andrew Likierman who has been dean since 2008 in August 2017. Ortalo-Magné is currently dean of the Wisconsin School of Business at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
