New Rankings by Businessweek

Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Managment made the top position after a two-year absence in Bloomberg Businessweek’s biennial ranking of the best executive MBA programmes. Chicago’s Booth School comes second this year, third is Southern Methodist’s Cox School of Business.

To compile this ranking Businessweek uses two measures: a survey of graduating EMBA students that covers their entire MBA experience, from admission to graduation, and a poll of EMBA directors that asks for feedback on which programmes they view as the best. The student survey calculation includes three years of data, encompassing the last three ranking cycles (2009, 2011, and 2013). Ranked are only schools in the U.S.

Earlier this year, the British Economist and Financial Times also named Kellogg as number one amongst the world's EMBA providers. As European media, though, they provide a far more international outlook on the programmes on offer, including business schools from around the world in their rankings. The best part-time rankings

Also out is Businessweek's ranking of the best part-time MBA programmes, again only considering business schools in the U.S. Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business comes first, closely followed by Berkeley’s Haas School of Business and Southern Methodist’s Cox School of Business. Businessweek's ranking of part-time MBAs is based on a survey of recent graduates, an academic quality measure that combines six school-reported data points—including average GMAT scores, class sizes, and completion rates—and a calculation of post-MBA outcomes.
