The best-paying MBAs

MBA programmes are expensive and a lot of potential business school applicants wonder about the reward for the financial effort. Emolument.com, a British salary benchmarking site, has analysed data from more than 2000 MBA throughout Europe to find out which MBA programmes are most likely to lead to careers in finance, technology or business services - and which degrees command the highest salaries.

For candidates aiming for a job in technology the financially most promising schools are Cambridge University Judge Business School with a median salary of 95.000 GBP (121.000 Euro), Insead with 80.000 GBP and London Business School with 78.000 GBP. With 20 per cent, a significant number of Cambridge alumni pursue technical careers.

For candidates aiming for a job in financial services the financially most rewarding schools are Cambridge University Judge Business School with a median salary of 110.000 GBP, St. Gallen with 106.000 GBP and Insead with 100.000 GBP. With 48 per cent, a significant number of Cambridge alumni pursue careers in finance. Salaries and bonuses for graduates in finance exceed those in technology or consulting by an average of 30.000 GBP.

For candidates aiming for a job in consulting or auditing, the financially most rewarding schools are London Business School with a median salary of 85.000 GBP, Insead with 82.000 GBP and Imperial College London Tanaka Business School with 79.000 GBP. With 23 per cent, a significant number of Tanaka alumni pursue careers in consulting or auditing, followed by LBS with 20 per cent.
