What managing directors in investment banks really earn

Bonus season will be upon us soon. The salary benchmarking site www.emolument.com has the latest numbers for managing directors (MD) in banks. Best paid are the executives who structure financial services products with an average bonus of 391 000 GBP, leaving them with a total income of 653 000 GBP.

They are closely followed by traders with a total compensation of 602 000 GBP and M&A specialists with 570 000 GBP.
