“D.C. is a global gateway and public policy ecosystem, where business and government intersect,” Sankaran Venkataraman, senior associate dean for Faculty and Research at Darden, told the local newspaper Cavalier Daily. According to the associate dean the new location is especially designed for executives who are working or have other, additional full-time engagements. “D.C. is home to the largest population of U.Va. alumni in the country, and Darden has a dynamic network in the D.C. area,” he said. “This opens up the market for our executive format MBA degree to a wider population.” Courses will start at the new school in August.
